Like this, "I felt really stupid it about. We used to do everything together. But, now, it was different." I usually take it out and find another way to say it because it doesn't feel right to me, but I've recently seen this done in a few published books written in past tense! In my wip, the characters refer to a virus which ended up wiping out most of the human population. Would it be correct to say "the Virus" when referring to it.
