Not when it's Beaker, the lovable Muppet. I've always been exceptionally impressed by his ability to communicate so much with a one-word vocabulary. We writers could learn a lot from Beaker.

For today's Friday Fun, I give you Beethoven, joy and, well...Beaker blowing things up.

Have a great weekend, friends!

Which are your favorite Muppets? What can you learn from Beaker's communication style?

  8. LOL... Beaker. :D I always liked the two old guys there at the end--Waldorf & whatshisface. Of course, long-suffering Kermit and Janice was great. Fun stuff, Laurel! <3

  9. Jessica: Elmo is indeed a lovable guy.

Laura: He's awesome, a agree. Funny true story: On a flight to Japan, my husband sat next to a Swedish gentleman who turned out to be...a chef! "Ever heard of the Muppet Show?" hubby asked. *snarf*

Stina: They are both pretty fun. Kermit is lots more articulate. :-)

  10. It's all in the delivery, isn't it! MEgnificent ...

  11. Bish: They're all so full of personality, aren't they? What a range of characters you enjoy!

Nicole: He sure spices up Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem's gigs!

Christine: Grover has the best voice ever. Poor Beaker, only being able to say one word--that has to get on his nerves!

  12. Josh: As usual with Beaker, things start fine, then go horribly wrong. I do love the smoking violin though!

Marja: Glad this made you smile!

Tiger: Kermit is getting a lot of votes, it seems. And yeah, Beaker is kind of an accident magnet, poor guy.

  13. Stephanie: Is that on Youtube? I'll have to go look! I love Beaker's Carol of the Bells. It's priceless.

Leigh: I just googled them--STATLER and Waldorf! They show up at the end of this video and all the newer youtube shorts Henson studios have made. They are awesomely snarky.

Joanne: Ha! MEgnificent! Love it. Yeah, Beaker's communication is all about delivery rather than the words themselves. Yet it's easy to understand what he means, interestingly.

  15. I always liked those crotchety dudes in the balcony box of the theater. Put them in a room with Nelson (Simpsons) for a laugh-off. :) Great post!
