I've fallen a bit behind with acknowledging and passing along blog awards, so today I play catch up.

Janet of It Is What It Is... gave me the elegant-looking Beautiful Blogger Award

I pass it to the following beautiful blogs:
Amy at The Invisible Sister
Christine H. at The Writer's Hole
E. Elle at The Writer's Funhouse
Laura at Exercising the Right to Ramble (just discovered we're both Messiah alum)
Stephanie at Hatsheput, The Writing of a Novel

Sarahjayne Smythe at Writing in the Wilderness passed along the cuddly Sweet Blogger Award.

I pass it to the following sweeties:
Janet at It Is What It Is...
Lynn at Place to Create
Kelly at Kelly's Compositions
Tyrean at Tyrean's Writing Spot
Simon at Constant Revision (Don't let his macho exterior fool you. He has encouraged me out of slumps many a time. I think that qualifies as sweet.)

Nicole of One Significant Moment at a Time named me a Blogger Buddy

I pass it along to the following buds:
Charity at My Writing Journey
Elle at Elle Strauss, author
Lola at Sharp Pen/Dull Sword
Jemi at Just Jemi
Tina at Sweet Niblets

These are no-pressure awards. Pass them along to one person, twenty or none. They're just my way of saying thanks.

I'm doing an epic amount of revising at the moment, so I'm a little short on time. Please bear with my distractedness. I'll visit and comment when I need a breather from the WIP.

If you are a new follower, please tell me a little about yourself! What's your genre, your stomping grounds, your favorite film?

  1. Congrats on your awards! I like the idea of no pressure. I have so many to give out right now that I'm feeling overwhelmed and I hope no one gets mad at me for not passing them on!

  2. Well, now I'm absoLUTEly convinced there's a lady blogospheric conspiracy to metro up my blog. (See my post today for the explanation of that little joke.)

But thanks so much, Laurel, for passing this along to me. 'Tis lovely of you. :)

  4. Aw, thanks Laurel! I love the award. :)

I'm a new follower--I write middle-grade literary fiction. My first book is supposed to come out this year, but it's been the quintessential example of Murphy's Law I've ever seen--so maybe it will, maybe it won't. I live in Boise and I don't have a favorite film, but I really like cupcakes.

  5. Congratulations on all of your awards! I'll check out the other winners.

I write YA fantasy/paranormal. I have two children, who will turn 12 and 8 this summer. Where did the time go? I live in Cambridge, MA. And although I love the ocean and nature, I can't imagine not living in a city.

  7. Awww...thanks! :) I'm honored.

CONGRATS on your awards! You are well loved.

Good luck with your (epic!) revisions. :) (I'm still at it, too. *sigh*)

    Love,
    Lola

  11. Thank you! And seriously - you graduated from Messiah? What year? Small world. Or not so small world. :)

  12. Thank you so much, Laurel! Like you, I'm revising more and blogging less. Here's to finished WIP's!(does that make them WIF's - "work I've finished?")

  13. Congrats on all of your awards. If you didn't know, I'm a writer of literary fiction, I live in Louisville, KY and (you didn't know this) my favorite film of all time is... oh, wait. I can't say that I can choose one. But I do really adore The Bridges of Madison County.

Er, not really a "new" follower but I like to answer questions about myself. Is that weird?

  14. Aubrie: I think folks understand, especially given how prolifically you write.

Simon: :-D Okay, I admit I was having a little fun with you. But you are an awesome CP and I appreciate you!

    Shannon: Thanks so much!

Amy: You're welcome. Darned that guy Murphy. He oughta be locked up! Joking aside, I hope your publication date ends up being perfectly timed for maximum sales.

Christine: Thanks. At least one of these was a month old *blushes*

  15. Theresa: Ooh, the Boston area is beautiful! I know what you mean about city living. I'm a convert myself. After growing up in rural PA, I adore Philly.

Alexandra: Norway! Cool! I'm thrilled to learn I have an international following beyond the Anglophone world. I'll bet your psychology studies give lots of ideas for mystery plots and characters.

Lola: You're most welcome. I'm finally to the point where I mostly need to clean up instead of rewrite from scratch (as I just did with 7 chapters in the middle). Can I finish revising the last 8 chapters in six weeks? We'll see!

Jemi: Well deserved for you, my friend. I wish you well with your revisions, too.

  16. Karen: thanks so much.

Tina: You are the cutest! I'm glad the bit of blog bling was encouraging.

Laura: You're quite welcome. Darn, I was afraid you'd ask that (only because I write YA). I graduated in '90. Everyone who meets me in person thinks I'm in my early 30s. Good genes. :-D

Christine H.: You're welcome. The editor in me sees everything in progress until sign off on the final bluelines. :-) Wishing you well with revisions!

Amber: Thanks for answering the questions anyway. It's fun to know you better. I envy your living in horse country! :-)

  18. Congrats!
And Thanks! I really appreciate it!
You know, I've only been a follower a little while, and my genre is . . . well, poetry, fantasy, sci-fi, historical, YA to Adult, and Christian (although sometimes I write stuff that might not seem like it). Of course, I like to write silly stuff too, and then sometimes serious devotions, as well.
My stomping grounds would be . . . the Northwest, and occassionally my kitchen floor where I practice my old tap dance moves with some literal stomping.
Films: there are too many, but I like Star Wars, The Princess Bride, The Cutting Edge, Much Ado About Nothing, and . . . most sword fight and Jackie Chan type martial arts scenes.
I also have an old fondness for Ferris Beuller's Day Off - not saying it's perfect, but fun to watch when facing/dreading a deadline.
