Happy October, friends! It's a cool, crisp day here in Philadelphia and autumn is beginning to weave its magic. I picked up my favorite cool-weather treat over the weekend at a Celtic music festival: Ribena! It's a British juice concentrate made from black currants that's super delicious made with hot water.

You know what else is magical? The wonderful friendships I've made with other bloggers. Today my friend PK Hrezo is hosting a giveaway of my debut novel Never Gone on her blog. Pop on over HERE to check it out and enter!

And the lovely Leigh Moore posted a review of Never Gone on her blog. A highlight: "It is so good. The writing is gorgeous the story is haunting (literally!) and it ends just perfectly."

Tomorrow I'll be back to talk about Leigh's sparkling YA contemporary novel, The Truth About Faking. Leigh and I will be doing a blog swap on October 29, which I'm very excited about, talking about how we handled religious themes in our books.

Go forth! Enter PK's giveaway! Check out Leigh's review!

Do you love autumn as much as I do? Why or why not?

    1. I love what we sometimes call "sweater weather." The heat of summer tends to make me lethargic!

  2. There's a lot going on here!

I do love autumn. But not the winter it brings! I'm looking forward to basketball season in November.

    1. It's a busy season for launching books!

Fall always reminds me of the fun I had in marching band playing fight songs and doing the halftime show for football games (though I never really got football. LOL).

  3. I'm with Alex, I like it when it gets colder, too. I'm SO excited to read LTM's book.

And now I'll go check out yours. ;-)

  4. I love autumn. It was my favorite season when we lived in New England. But fall in Chattanooga isn't bad either.

Now I'm off to visit PK Hrezo's blog.

  5. Yay! Hooray for fall and for your perfect fall book! It's the ideal book to snuggle with by the fire. I love it. And I'm very curious about this Ribena! How interesting. :o)

    Best to you~ <3

    1. Thanks, Leigh. My cover does have a very autumnal look--I was being all symbolic-like 'cause I'm nerdy like that. LOL.

Ribena is sooo yummy and so expensive in the US. But I decided to splurge. It was my birthday after all. Blackcurrants are only beginning to be grown in the US--they were linked to a tree blight that was wiping out native-species forests (sorry, doing the nerd thing again).

  6. We're from the same area and I'm enjoying our fall, too! Orange is my favorite color so I love when the leaves change. Today I made apple chips, which is a perfect autumn treat!

    1. No kidding--you're in the Philly area? How did I not know that? Kewl. Anything apple is perfect this time of year. I just bought ingredients to make molasses crinkles from my grandmother's 1952 Betty Crocker cookbook. There's something very autumnal about spice cookies.
