I tend to write kindness into my gods. They can also have horrible tempers, but are, for the most part, really out to help people.

Indeed, the kindness glows bright in such a dark setting. A war story that isn't unrelenting bleakness, but punctuated with glimpses of goodness is truly transforming for readers.

ReplyDeleteWhenever you're in a dry period, working with prompts can be a way to creatively refill. Prompts can also help you come up with new plot ideas and deepen characterization in works-in-progress.

DeleteAs a cozy, this I could see. Usually there's the sidekick who is super supportive of the MC. And kindness could absolutely move the story forward...
ReplyDeleteHaving received kindness from a murder victim would be a huge motivation for the amateur sleuth to seek justice for their lost benefactor, too.
